WELCOME to my first post on gameplay analysis. Analysing Dream's recent video on 5v1 Manhunt, I will be analysing the bugs and glitches he experienced. Take a look at a snippet of it here.
As you realised, when Dream killed the Ender Dragon, he didn't receive the achievement 'Free the End'.
We need to understand how game bugs, such as the one I highlighted above, can simply ruin a gaming experience. It is never fun playing a game and experiencing game glitches that happen at the crucial timings. It is frustrating for the player, especially given the effort they invest in ensuring they win each round. Aspiring to be a future game developer, I will want to work on ideas that will help benefit games such as Minecraft, FIFA, Fall Guys, etc., and fix certain game bugs so that games can be improved.
I have been playing games since young and had experienced many types of game bugs. For those of you who play games, you have definitely lost your temper because of a particular game flaw. It destroys your mood in playing the game. It makes all the effort you invested go down the drain. However, has the thought that any game created will never be perfect when it is first released crossed your mind? For game developers, they will have to go through thorough checks on the game before they publish it to the public. As people play the game, this is a small known fact but, game developers really hope to receive feedback from players while people play their game. Reason being, game developers want to make use of feedback to help them better cater to their target audience's gaming preferences. Hence, leading to a better gaming experience for players.
Going back to the video I put up above, the game bug Dream experienced had happened to other people who have played Minecraft. Mojang, a video game developer, addressed this game issue in their recent Minecraft update. Mojang provided twi reasons why individuals did not receive the achievement after killing the Ender Dragon: 1. the server was too overloaded and the game is not able to process the achievement, or 2. individuals have already killed the Ender Dragon. Mojang later improved on the game by guaranteeing that individuals who killed the Ender Dragon the first time round will receive the achievement 'Free The End'. It is great that Mojang are quick to act on player's feedback and rectify surfaced issues in Minecraft.
